New Generation Innovation entrepreneurship development center scheme was awarded to National Engineering College in the academic Year 2017 – 2018.
The NewGen IEDC scheme was awarded to National Engineering College in the academic year 2017- 18. The NEC NewGen IED centre was established at the NEC campus, completed Five academic years, and developed 85 commercially viable products.

44 patents were filed from the outcomes of the projects.

The objective of the project is to fabricate a simple rear loader attachment to minimize the labour work as well as to minimize the material handling time in farm and construction sector.
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) had published a detailed survey entitled “LABOUR IN INDIAN AGRICULTURE: A GROWING CHALLENGE” and discussed the labour problems in Indian Agriculture. It is pointed out that there exists acute shortage of labour in agriculture and discussed the reasons.
